unabashed magazine is an online literary magazine dedicated to amplifying the voices of the shameless. Powered by a staff of dedicated writers and readers, unabashed is about the importance of the story and the writer whether if that story is told through fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, personal essays, photography, or other forms of visual art.

Jade Ivy is a millennial mother, devoted writer, web designer, snobby English Lit major, avid reader, and strong believer that she is Rose Quartz reincarnated. Her debut novel is taking its precious time writing itself, but she is occupying that time with personal essays, book reviews, uplifting the voices of the diverse and disadvantaged, and late night writing (crying) sessions. When work is over and she has time for herself, she dives into her multitude of hobbies which include video games, stationary, photography, crocheting, napping, and most importantly, taking pictures of books piling up on her TBR (to be read) list.
RaeAnna is a mid-western girl at heart born in Ames, Iowa. Having graduated from Cornell College with a degree in Literature, French, and Russian, she is a proud polyglot and professional bookworm. While in college, she spent time living and studying in France and England, as well as, exploring Europe. After college, she spent two years figuring out what to do with her life in Chicago. Now, she resides in Houston spending her time as a freelance literary translator, editor, and writer, heading up PR for several business, and founder of a new, yet successful blog and social media presence under the handle BookishLiaisons. With a love for language and literature, she’s incredibly excited to be a part of the team helping cultivate new voices.

Katie Ray is a 23 year old native of Florida. While trying to find her way in life, she is studying for a BA in Communication (relational + culture & media) and has an associates in Fine Art. She loves writing and drawing comics, taking pictures on film, watching Let’s Plays’ & movie/game/show reviews on YouTube, and petting cats that she’s allergic to.

Kate Delaney is a 23 year old residing in Cardiff, UK. Ever since discovering the power of reading and writing during an episode of severe depression, she’s used her words to talk about taboo topics on her mental health blog and is now studying English Literature & Creative Writing while planning a novel. You’ll usually find her lost in a bookshop or escaping to other worlds in her book nook. Winter is her favorite time of the year, she’s dying to get a puppy and she drinks too much tea. She can’t wait to empower others to create beautiful and honest pieces of fiction.
Poetry & Prose Editor
Amrita is a British-Indian who always finds it difficult to sit still. She graduated from The University of Nottingham with a Masters in Architecture and has worked in London, Mumbai, Paris, and Kolkata. As a child, she was always either reading or writing, which led to being elected as Editor for both her high-school and college journals. Over the last couple of years she has been concentrating on writing as a profession. She’s addicted to travel and is always hungry for pizza. She is also addicted to buying stationery and not using them, but that’s a story for another day. She’s super excited to be a part of Unabashed to help discover unique and diverse work.
Lilly Nightshade is a 34-year-old blogger and mother of an autistic son. She is currently completing coursework towards a BA in Sociology at the University of Arkansas-Jonesboro. When she isn’t working, Lilly can be found reading, writing, or having serious discussions with her son about appropriate social behavior. When she can find the time and energy, she also enjoys crochet, cult comedies, and video games.

Fathima is from a small town in India, where dreams are so hard to touch. And in that place, she has dreamed so many only through stories. Her affair with books are longstanding and magical. When she is not struggling with her baby boy to get him to sleep, you can find her curling with a novel at three in the morning. Her beloved, troublesome novel is on its 20th edit and it will see much more before it meets the world.
