Does Unabashed pay? Not at this time. We are a small team of volunteers dedicated to providing a publication full of original and unique content for those who have not yet had the opportunity to be heard elsewhere.
Can I submit more than once? Because we are a bi-monthly magazine, we have a limit to one submission an issue but up to five submissions a year. You can reapply if denied, but do not submit the same work. We hope to provide feedback on why the work was not accepted.
Can I contribute more than once? Yes, you may. Once you register (after we accept your work the first time) you are free to write articles or contribute as many pieces as you’d like. It is up to the decision of the editors when the piece(s) will be published on the website.
Do you have anything in print? Not at this time. Unabashed Magazine is a digital format and will be sold in a digital format. We are hoping to have a print version in the near future.
Why can’t the work be submitted elsewhere? We only accept content that has not been previously published in another publication, on social media, on a blog, or any other platform. If we do not accept your work, please feel free to submit it to other publications after you have received notice of our denial. This is non-negotiable. Please let us know if you have work published elsewhere.
Can I submit updated drafts? This is reserved currently for only our $20 or more reward tier Patreon supporter. It’s more work on behalf of our editors to go through new work.
Can I ask to have my work taken down? For all digital work, yes, you can. We don’t own your work, it’s always 100% your own work and if you want it taken down, then you’re more than welcome to e-mail us and say so. We don’t want you to ever feel obligated to have work displayed where you don’t want. All we ask is to be sure that you want to do so because we can’t go back and republish it. Know that you’re taking the same chance as everyone else here. You don’t have anything to fear but it is always your ultimate decision.
